About Ellwee

Ellwee AB (publ) is a Swedish public company that has undergone a significant strategic transformation, shifting its focus from electric vehicles to the recreational vehicle market. The company was formally established on July 26, 2019, and went public via an IPO on January 19, 2021. Originally, Ellwee was centered around developing and selling multi-purpose electric vehicles, an activity that began under the Ellwee brand founded in 2015. The firm's founders included Mathias Lindmark and Viggo Hansson, with engineers from Volvo and Saab contributing to the vehicle's development.

Historically, the company developed a line of single-rider electric four-wheelers, such as the Ellwee X and Ellwee Easy models, primarily targeting golf courses and gated communities. These vehicles featured a lightweight design, a patent-pending rear pivot axle to minimize turf damage, and modular assembly. However, in a strategic pivot, Ellwee divested its electric vehicle operations in July 2022 to focus on more profitable ventures. This new direction concentrated on the sale of motorhomes and caravans through its subsidiary, EW Fritid AB, which it had acquired in 2021. As an authorized dealer, the company sold new vehicles from brands like KABE, Adria, Knaus, and Weinsberg, as well as used recreational vehicles from various manufacturers. The business model included sales of new and used vehicles, accessories from KAMA Fritid, and offering service and reconditioning through its own workshop.

In a further strategic evolution, Ellwee announced in May 2025 its intention to sell the subsidiary EW Fritid AB to Bosse Bil i Åsbro AB and Arx Nova AB, a transaction finalized in June 2025. This divestment was part of a strategic review aimed at strengthening the company's financial position and enabling the implementation of a new direction following the reverse acquisition of Ortelius International AB. This move marks a departure from direct vehicle sales and signals another shift in the company's core business strategy, leveraging its public company status for new ventures.
