Electrum Charging Solutions Inc. provides end-to-end electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure and energy management for commercial and residential sectors across North America. Founded in May 2015 by Dan Trudel, the company initially focused on installing single chargers for Tesla in homes. Trudel, who serves as CEO, has extensive experience in the EV industry, including involvement in the design and launch of an early Level II charger at Leviton. The company is headquartered in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada.

Electrum has since expanded to large-scale installations for clients such as corporations, governments, utilities, and OEM manufacturers, deploying over 6,000 charging stations to date. Key clients and partners include Tesla, Porsche, Siemens, ABB, and the cities of Vancouver, Surrey, and Burnaby. The firm's business model encompasses the full lifecycle of EV infrastructure, including planning, design, installation with certified electricians, and ongoing management. In 2020, the company diversified by developing a proprietary cloud-based software platform, ev-iv, to complement its hardware installations.

This open-source software provides a comprehensive management solution for EV charging sites. It enables features such as dynamic billing and cost recovery, intelligent load management to reduce utility costs, access control, and performance monitoring. The platform is also designed to generate carbon credits from the energy dispensed, creating an additional revenue stream for clients. Electrum's hardware-agnostic approach allows it to work with a wide range of OEM manufacturers, providing customized and branded solutions.
