Edupia, operating under the parent company Educa Corporation, is an online education platform established in Vietnam in 2018 by founder and CEO Tran Duc Hung. Hung, who previously served as the Director of Digital Services at Viettel, Vietnam's largest telecommunications company, identified a significant disparity in the quality of English language education between major cities and more rural areas. This observation, coupled with his experience in digital transformation, spurred the creation of Edupia to provide accessible, high-quality English language instruction for K-12 students.

The company's business model is centered on a digital-first, subscription-based service. It generates revenue through paid user subscriptions to its suite of applications, which have attracted over 600,000 paying users from a total user base of over 5 million. Edupia's core market is K-12 students in Vietnam, with a particular focus on bridging the educational gap in Tier 2, 3, and 4 cities. The firm has also begun expanding its reach to other Southeast Asian markets, including Thailand and Indonesia.

Edupia's product portfolio includes several applications tailored to different age groups and learning needs. The main Edupia app targets primary and secondary students, offering lessons from native-speaking teachers, gamified exercises, and speaking practice technology. For younger learners aged 3-8, the company provides Babilala, which uses a European-standard, self-learning approach with interactive, cartoon-based content. To supplement its self-learning tools, Edupia offers personalized tutoring services through Edupia Tutor and specialized training with Edupia IELTS. The platform utilizes technologies like AI and iSpeak voice recognition to provide interactive, multi-dimensional learning experiences and assess pronunciation. The company has also expanded its offerings to include corporate English training through Edupia Business and is adding subjects like mathematics and coding.

The company has secured significant financial backing, raising a total of $24 million over three rounds. A notable Series A funding round in 2022 brought in $14 million, led by Jungle Ventures and with participation from eWTP Capital and ThinkZone Ventures. This capital is being used to enhance technological infrastructure and fuel product development and regional expansion.
