About Earth Blox
Earth Blox is an Edinburgh environmental-intelligence company founded in 2019 by Dr Genevieve Patenaude (CEO; former University of Edinburgh associate professor and IPCC contributing author), Iain Woodhouse, Ben Butchart and Sam Fleming. Its no-code SaaS platform combines satellite, environmental and portfolio data with AI analysis so banks, consumer brands, energy companies and agribusinesses can assess how nature loss and climate hazards affect financial performance, supply chains and capital allocation. Clients have included Shell Nature Based Solutions, The Nature Conservancy, WWF and Greenpeace; a collaboration with Lloyds Banking Group analysed 5.1 million hectares of UK farmland for nature risk. After earlier Archangels and Mercia-backed raises, in March 2026 Earth Blox secured €6.9 million (£6 million) led by PXN Ventures with Scottish Enterprise, Archangels and European Space Agency funding, to grow the team, deepen AI-powered nature and climate analytics and expand platform capabilities.
