Eagle Test Systems specialized in creating test solutions for analog, mixed-signal, and radio frequency semiconductors. The company's strategy centered on providing cost-effective, high-volume production test equipment. A key moment in its journey was in October 2003, when it received a significant $95 million in funding from private equity firm TA Associates, signaling confidence in its future prospects. This led to an initial public offering on March 14, 2006. The company continued to grow, and by 2008, it had attracted the attention of a major player in the ATE industry. On November 14, 2008, Teradyne, a leader in System-on-a-Chip test solutions, acquired Eagle Test Systems for approximately $250 million. The acquisition was a strategic move for Teradyne to complement its own offerings with Eagle's strength in the analog-dominant chip testing market, ultimately integrating Eagle Test as a business unit within its Semiconductor Test Division.
