The system involves loading solid biomass into peripheral tanks where it undergoes percolation, being showered with digestate from a central pre-digester to initiate anaerobic degradation. The enriched liquid then moves to a continuous, mixed-flow digester for further processing. This dual process allows the system to handle inputs containing foreign materials like plastics or stones and results in more stable biomethane production, reduced maintenance, and 35% less energy consumption compared to conventional methods. The final biomethane is injected into the gas network, and the solid digestate is recovered for agricultural use.
