About Dle

DLE Inc., short for Dream Link Entertainment, is a Tokyo-based entertainment company that has carved out a distinct niche in the Japanese and international markets since its inception. Founded on December 27, 2001, by Ryuta Shiiki, a former executive producer from Sony, the company was initially established as Pasania Private Limited Company. Shiiki leveraged his experience in Sony's international division, where he managed licensing for major film studios, to build a company focused on bridging international buyers with Japanese production capabilities. The firm rebranded to DLE Inc. in 2003 and achieved a significant milestone by listing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange's Mothers market for emerging companies in March 2014, later moving to the First Section in 2016. In 2019, Asahi Broadcasting Group Holdings became the majority shareholder.

The company's business model is centered on the creation, production, and monetization of Intellectual Property (IP). DLE operates as a comprehensive entertainment producer, managing a portfolio that spans animation, live-action films, mobile games, and marketing services. Revenue is generated through its rights business, co-productions, and providing marketing solutions for a range of clients, from food brands like Nissin Foods to entertainment giants like Warner Brothers Entertainment. A key element of its strategy was the early adoption of Flash animation, which allowed for the cost-effective and rapid production of content. This approach enabled the company to develop numerous original IPs and quickly establish a market presence.

DLE's flagship product is the animated series "Secret Society Eagle Talon," which first aired in 2006. This series, created by the artist Frogman (Ryo Ono), follows the comedic misadventures of a bumbling villainous group and has grown into a major franchise with feature films, merchandise, and mobile apps. Another notable IP is "Panpaka Pants," a family-friendly comedy about a piglet searching for rare pants. Beyond animation, DLE has expanded into live-action production and events, notably acquiring the rights to the popular fashion show "Tokyo Girls Collection" in 2015. More recently, in July 2025, the company announced the establishment of an AI studio to enhance its content production capabilities, aiming to produce a high volume of quality content quickly.
