About Divgi TorqTransfer Systems

Divgi TorqTransfer Systems (Divgi-TTS) is a key Indian Tier 1 supplier to the automotive industry, specializing in the design and production of advanced drivetrain components and systems. The company operates on a business-to-business model, serving major original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) like Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Toyota. Its business is global, with customers in the UK, USA, China, Korea, and Japan.

The company's origins trace back to 1964 when brothers Ramrao and Bhaskar Divgi founded Divgi Metalwares Private Limited as a small-scale enterprise manufacturing gears and gearbox components. A significant milestone was a joint venture with BorgWarner in 1995, which was dissolved in 2016, leading to the formation of Divgi-TTS as an independent entity. The current Managing Director, Jitendra Divgi, son of founder Bhaskar Divgi, holds a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from BITS Pilani and a Master's in Manufacturing from the University of Massachusetts. His prior experience includes work at Digital Equipment Corporation and serving on the board of BorgWarner, China. The company went public in March 2023 with an Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the BSE and NSE exchanges.

Divgi-TTS engineers and manufactures a diverse product portfolio. This includes torque transfer systems like 4-wheel-drive (4WD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) transfer cases, making it the largest supplier of transfer cases to passenger vehicle manufacturers in India. The company is also the sole manufacturer of torque couplers in India and the only Indian company that exports transfer cases to global OEMs. Furthermore, their offerings include synchronizer systems for manual and dual-clutch transmissions (DCT), and they have developed complete DCT systems. Recognizing the shift in the automotive sector, Divgi-TTS has developed transmission systems for electric vehicles (EVs) and secured a contract to supply EV transmissions to a leading Indian EV manufacturer.

The firm operates three manufacturing and assembly facilities in India: one in Sirsi, Karnataka, and two in Bhosari and Shivare (near Pune), Maharashtra, which are strategically located near key clients. A fourth facility is under construction in Shirwal to expand manufacturing capacity, particularly for DCT and EV transmissions.
