The story begins in 1987 in Bhopal, where Dilip Suryavanshi started a small construction firm named Dilip Builders. Initially, the company focused on residential and commercial building projects in its home state of Madhya Pradesh. Joined by Devendra Jain in 1995, who started as a fresh engineering graduate, the firm began to expand its capabilities. As India's focus on infrastructure grew, the company saw a major opportunity. Pivoting from real estate, it ventured into road construction. This strategic shift proved successful, and within years, it became a leading road-focused contractor in the state. To fuel further growth, the proprietorship was formally incorporated as Dilip Buildcon Private Limited in 2006, becoming a public limited company in 2010. The company's journey reached a significant milestone in August 2016 when Dilip Buildcon launched its Initial Public Offering (IPO). The listing on both the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange provided capital for further expansion. This event marked the transformation from a small, local construction firm into a publicly traded, national player in India's infrastructure development.
