About DiGiCo
DiGiCo is a British manufacturer of digital mixing consoles and related audio technologies for the professional sound industry. The company was founded in 2002 through the acquisition of Soundtracs by a team that included James Gordon, who became CEO of the parent company Audiotonix, and co-founder David Webster. The acquisition built upon Soundtracs' legacy, which began in the early 1980s when its founders started creating custom mixing consoles for recording studios. The firm serves the live sound, musical theatre, broadcast, and installed sound markets. Its products are a staple in high-profile applications, such as major concert tours, West End and Broadway theatre productions, and at venues like the London Coliseum. The business operates on a model of designing, manufacturing, and selling high-performance audio hardware and proprietary software. In 2014, DiGiCo merged with Allen & Heath and Calrec to form the Audiotonix Group, a holding company that has since expanded to include other prominent audio brands like Solid State Logic and KLANG:technologies. DiGiCo's product history began with the launch of the D5 Live console in 2002, which set a new direction for live sound mixing. The subsequent introduction of the SD-Range in 2007, starting with the flagship SD7, marked a significant technological shift. This series utilized a powerful combination of a single large-scale FPGA for core audio processing and TigerSHARC DSPs, a technology branded as Stealth Digital Processing™. This architecture allows the entire audio engine to reside on a single circuit board, providing substantial processing power and flexibility. The company has continued to evolve its product lines with the Quantum series and the more accessible S-Series, catering to a wide spectrum of the professional market.
