Dextrys
Provider of software engineering and application services
About Dextrys
The story begins not in the 90s, but in 1987, with the founding of a company that would later become Dextrys. Its journey, however, truly accelerates in the 2000s. Alan Perkins, the founder, steered the company through key milestones, establishing a national client base and a global perspective on IT solutions. The business provided product engineering and application outsourcing services to sectors like software, healthcare, and finance. A pivotal moment arrived in 2007. The private equity firm Francisco Partners invested $48 million, bringing in IT industry veteran Brian T. Keane. The company, formerly known as DarwinSuzsoft, rebranded to Dextrys with a clear mission: to become a leading global IT services firm by leveraging offshore resources in China. With its US headquarters and development centers in Chinese cities like Suzhou and Shanghai, Dextrys offered clients a model that combined onsite project management with offshore development. The final chapter for Dextrys as an independent entity was written on June 21, 2016. The company was acquired by EPAM Systems, a global software engineering and solutions provider. The acquisition was a strategic move for EPAM to enhance its own global delivery capabilities and expand its footprint in China, adding over 1,000 Dextrys employees and new delivery centers to its operations. For Dextrys, the acquisition marked the culmination of its journey from a domestic IT firm to a key player in the China-US outsourcing corridor.
