Delta g is a deep technology company that develops portable gravity gradient sensors based on quantum technology. The firm spun out of the University of Birmingham's Quantum Technology Hub for Sensors and Timing. Incorporated on March 1, 2022, the company leverages its technology to accurately detect buried features by measuring their gravitational profiles. This capability offers a method for surveying environments that were previously difficult to measure due to noise sources that affect current methods.

The company's mission is to create tools that use gravity to address real-world issues. Applications for its technology span various industries, including civil engineering, infrastructure, defense, rail, navigation, and resource exploration. Delta g aims to provide solutions for challenges such as reducing roadworks by precisely locating underground utilities, offering alternative navigation systems, and monitoring resources to address climate change. The development of its technology has been supported by over £20 million in UK government-funded R&D through projects like Gravity Pioneer and Gravity Imager.

Delta g collaborates with end-user partners like BAE Systems and RSK and receives R&D support from the University of Birmingham, ensuring its solutions meet evolving market needs. The leadership team includes CEO Antony David Lowe, CTO Andrew Lamb, Head of Operations Connor Frapwell, and Head of Engineering Jonathan Winch. The company is based at the Birmingham Research Park in the UK.
