The core of DecorMatters is its iOS application, which leverages Augmented Reality (AR), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and a social community to engage users. The platform allows individuals, from DIY enthusiasts to professional interior designers, to create designs, participate in challenges, and visualize furniture from various retailers in their own rooms using AR. This approach transforms the often stressful task of home renovation into an interactive social game. A key milestone was securing a $10 million Series A funding round in December 2019, led by Zenstone Venture Capital, bringing its total funding to $11 million. This capital was aimed at advancing its AI and data capabilities and developing a blockchain-based system.

The business model combines a freemium structure with e-commerce and affiliate sales. Users can access basic features for free, while a premium subscription unlocks the full catalog of furniture and advanced design tools. Revenue is generated when users purchase furniture through the app from one of its more than 30 partner brands, which include major retailers like Wayfair and Overstock. The company is also developing a blockchain ledger to create a profit-sharing mechanism, rewarding content creators and designers for their product recommendations and copyright authorizations when their designs lead to sales.
