The company's first product candidate, DP1038, is a novel intranasal formulation of octreotide acetate for treating endocrine cancers, such as acromegaly and neuroendocrine tumors. This non-invasive alternative to painful injections was developed utilizing the patented Intravail® drug delivery technology licensed from Aegis Therapeutics, which enhances the absorption of drugs through the nasal passage. In February 2017, Dauntless initiated a Phase 1 clinical trial for DP1038 to evaluate its safety and pharmacokinetics compared to the standard subcutaneous injection. While the company raised a total of $37M to $58.1M over its lifetime, reports indicate it became inactive or 'deadpooled' around October 2021.
