About Daily Makeover

Daily Makeover was a digital beauty platform centered around a virtual makeover tool that allowed users to experiment with different makeup products and hairstyles. Users could upload their own photo and apply various cosmetics from actual brand name product lines, offering a practical tool for trying on new looks. The platform operated on a freemium model, providing a free trial with limited access to hairstyles and makeup brands, while a premium subscription offered an expanded selection of products and the ability to upload unlimited photos.

In October 2012, StyleCaster Media Group, an interactive fashion and style community, acquired Daily Makeover. This acquisition was a strategic move by StyleCaster's CEO, Ari Goldberg, to expand the company's media empire and integrate Daily Makeover's technology. Following the acquisition, Daily Makeover's team was integrated with StyleCaster's.

The company's journey continued when, in August 2014, StyleCaster Media Group, including its portfolio of sites like Daily Makeover, was purchased by SheKnows Media (now SHE Media) for a reported $10 million in an all-stock transaction. This deal was aimed at broadening SheKnows' reach to a younger, fashion-forward female audience. Eventually, in March 2018, Penske Media Corporation acquired SheKnows Media, bringing properties like StyleCaster and by extension, the legacy of Daily Makeover, under its umbrella. The Daily Makeover brand was ultimately absorbed into StyleCaster.
