About Cyvenio Biosystems

Cynvenio Biosystems, Inc. was a molecular diagnostics company that developed technologies for the early detection and monitoring of cancer. Founded in 2006 and based in Westlake Village, California, the firm focused on providing clinically actionable insights from rare, circulating tumor cells (CTCs) found in a patient's blood. The company was founded by Fred Gluck, a former managing partner of McKinsey & Company who also served as chairman.

The company's core technology was the automated LiquidBiopsy® platform, which used a patented microfluidic chip to isolate rare cells from a simple blood draw for molecular analysis. This system was designed to be deployed in research laboratories and hospitals. For oncology practices, Cynvenio offered its CLIA-certified lab services, including the ClearID® blood test. The ClearID Breast Cancer test, for example, assessed 50 oncogenes for thousands of genetic mutations using next-generation sequencing to help physicians with treatment decisions. In 2017, Cynvenio launched the ClearID Total Insight program, a 12-month monitoring service for breast cancer patients that combined genetic sequencing with immune system assessment to detect signs of recurrence.

Cynvenio's business model included selling its LiquidBiopsy platform and consumables to research institutions and providing testing services directly to clinicians. The company formed several key partnerships, including a distribution agreement with Thermo Fisher Scientific and collaborations with Color Genomics for hereditary cancer gene testing. In June 2015, Cynvenio announced a $25.5 million Series B financing round led by Livzon Pharmaceutical Group, which included plans for a joint venture in China. On May 1, 2019, the company changed its name to LungLife AI Inc.
