CURE51

CURE51 is a French biotechnology company with a novel approach to cancer research, focusing on patients who have survived aggressive forms of the disease against all odds, termed "outliers." The company was co-founded by Nicolas Wolikow and Simon Istolainen, in collaboration with a consortium of five globally recognized oncology centers.

The company is building a comprehensive global database of these cancer survivors, which already includes over 1,500 individuals from 42 countries. This database is populated through a proprietary data collection and discovery platform. In conjunction with this platform, CURE51 operates a dedicated central laboratory to conduct multi-omic sequencing of survivor samples. CURE51's initial focus is on three particularly aggressive types of cancer. The company plans to expand its research to other indications and therapeutic areas, leveraging its unique dataset and discovery pipelines. The business model appears to be centered on the discovery of new therapeutic targets, which can then be licensed to or co-developed with pharmaceutical partners, or developed in-house.
