About CURA
CURA (CURA Climate Inc.) is a Calgary cleantech company founded in 2025 by CEO Erin Bobicki that electrifies the limestone-decomposition step in cement and lime production, replacing high-temperature fossil combustion with an electrochemical CURALYTE process that yields a low-carbon calcium product and a concentrated CO₂ stream while integrating with existing OPC feedstocks and plants. The company targets up to about 85% emissions cuts versus conventional kilns and has MOUs with partners including ACCIONA, Aecon and Titan Cement. In September 2026 CURA raised $10 million USD led by Zacua Ventures, with Sandpiper Ventures, Amplify Capital, Vantage Futures, UCEED, Mount Rundle Club and Sebastian Becker, to build and commission a 100-tonne-per-year pilot with Grand Forks Concrete in Taber, Alberta, engineer a ~30,000-tonne commercial demonstration plant and expand the team.
