About Cotierra

Cotierra is a Zurich-based climate technology company developing decentralised biochar systems for agricultural value chains. Led by CEO Thomas Käslin, its hardware and software platform lets agricultural businesses convert residual biomass into biochar close to where it is generated, and supports monitoring, traceability and reporting of those deployments. On 29 September 2026 Cotierra announced a $3 million financing co-led by PINC, the venture arm of Paulig, and Carbon Removal Partners, with Zürcher Kantonalbank, Carbon Drawdown Initiative, better ventures, GOTA Ventures, Hungry4Impact, Triple Impact Ventures and climate-focused angels, bringing total funding since inception to about $4.75 million.
