Coridea, founded in 2006, focuses on developing high-impact medical solutions aimed at improving the lives of heart failure patients. One of their flagship products is an innovative implantable neurostimulation device that restores natural breathing during sleep for patients suffering from Central Sleep Apnea. Coridea also addresses unmet clinical needs in the area of Contrast Induced Nephropathy (CIN), a form of acute renal failure caused by exposure to contrast media during image-guided cardiology and radiology procedures. They discovered that a balanced high-volume infusion of IV fluid can flush the kidneys and reduce damage from radiocontrast. This led to the development of the RenalGuard device. Recently, Coridea spun out Reprieve Cardiovascular, which is exploring the use of this technology further.
