CopilotKit is a Seattle developer-tools company co-founded by Atai Barkai (CEO) and Uli Barkai that helps teams embed AI agents inside applications with interactive, app-native user interfaces rather than chat-only text replies. Its widely adopted open-source AG-UI protocol standardises how agents connect to front ends—supporting streaming chat, front-end tool calls, state sharing and human-in-the-loop flows—and works alongside MCP and A2A; press cites support from major cloud providers and agent frameworks and millions of weekly installs, with enterprise customers including Deutsche Telekom, Docusign, Cisco and S&P Global. On top of AG-UI, CopilotKit builds an enterprise toolkit (including CopilotKit Enterprise Intelligence) for optionality and self-hosted deployment so companies can keep existing agent stacks while hardening production agent UIs.
