Content Engineers is a film and digital content studio founded in 2022 by Saurabh Varma and Utpal Acharya. Located in Mumbai, India, the company specializes in creating intellectual properties such as feature films, web series, and documentaries for both theatrical release and OTT platforms. The firm received $50 million in Angel funding from Veear Projects Inc. in January 2022.

The founders bring a complementary blend of creative and commercial expertise to the venture. Saurabh Varma, the Chief Creative Officer & Filmmaker, has a 25-year background in the film industry, including a role as ex-CMO of Jio Studios, where he marketed over 950 films. His experience spans both the creative and commerce sides of content creation. Utpal Acharya, an experienced producer, has worked with major studios and multiplex chains like Sony Pictures, UTV, and Viacom18, contributing to over 800 films. His background is in film sales, distribution, revenue monetization, and production. Shivraj Khaware serves as the Chief Operating Officer, leveraging his entrepreneurial experience to optimize business operations.

The company's business model is centered on producing commercially viable original IPs with a focus on grass-rooted Indian stories that have global appeal. They employ a data-driven approach, using research and focus groups to gain insight into consumer preferences. Content Engineers manages the entire content lifecycle, from ideation to execution. The firm has established an in-house script lab with a team of writers and storytellers from across India to develop ideas into motion pictures. To enhance its production capabilities, the company is investing in building a large virtual production studio and has its own post-production and VFX facilities. This allows them to produce and execute content globally within competitive budgets and timelines.
