ConceptoMed AS is a Norwegian medical technology company that develops and commercializes solutions for medical procedures and sample collection. The company was founded in 2012 by M.D. Christian Mide, who currently serves as the CEO. The inspiration for the company's first product came from Dr. Mide's own experience as a physician performing arthrocentesis, where he identified a need for a safer and more efficient way to disconnect syringes from needles.

The company's initial focus was on its Luer-Jack® technology, a medical syringe with a unique lever arm mechanism. This design allows for a one-handed, controlled disconnection of the syringe from a needle or other luer-fit connection, which helps to maintain sterility, reduce the risk of needlestick injuries, and prevent fluid spills. The Luer-Jack® syringe is compatible with standard luer connectors and has received CE Mark approval for sale in Europe and FDA 510(k) clearance in the United States. ConceptoMed has established distribution agreements to market the Luer-Jack® in Europe and the Middle East.

Expanding from its syringe technology, ConceptoMed has developed a portfolio of specimen collection devices under the SampleSUITE™ brand. A key product in this line is the SalivaPOD™, a single-use device designed for the clean and easy collection of saliva samples for diagnostic testing, including PCR analysis. Developed to address the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and the growing field of saliva-based diagnostics, SalivaPOD™ provides a standardized volume and reduces sample contamination. The company also offers the SalivaCODE™ mobile app, an interactive guide with multilingual instructions for sample collection. The product is CE marked and sold in Scandinavia, with plans to expand distribution globally. Future products in the pipeline include the StoolPOD™ and CapillaryPOD™. ConceptoMed's business model revolves around the development of proprietary medical devices, protected by patents, and sold through international distribution partners to healthcare providers, laboratories, and for at-home use.
