Operating from Silicon Valley and Tel Aviv, CommonGround, legally known as TrueMeeting, Inc., develops software solutions aimed at enhancing digital human interaction. The company was established in January 2020 by serial entrepreneurs Amir Bassan-Eskenazi (CEO) and Ran Oz (CTO). The founding pair have a significant track record, having previously co-founded BigBand Networks, which they took public in 2007, and were involved in the IPOs of Optibase and VCON.

CommonGround's core offering is its HumanAI technology platform, which generates realistic, real-time 3D avatars called TrueSelf™. This technology allows users to create a digital likeness by scanning their face with a smartphone, which can then be used across various applications without the need for specialized VR or XR hardware. The platform is built on a proprietary AI model developed over four years, incorporating computer vision, deep learning, and real-time video compression. The service is designed to capture non-verbal cues like eye contact and body language to create more authentic and engaging virtual interactions.

The company's business model focuses on integrating its HumanAI platform into third-party applications through collaboration with hardware and software developers. Target markets are diverse, spanning enterprise communication, gaming, e-commerce, content creation, and telehealth. Initially focused on improving virtual meetings, the technology is now positioned for any application requiring digital human representation.

CommonGround has secured significant financial backing, raising $19 million in a Series A round in December 2020, led by Matrix Partners with Grove Ventures and StageOne Ventures participating. This was followed by a $25 million funding round in November 2022, led by Israeli tech entrepreneur Marius Nacht, bringing the company's total funding to approximately $44-45 million. Recent reports from July 2025 indicate that the company has been acquired by Apple.
