Colorbox
Mobile game development for multiple platforms
About Colorbox
Colorbox, a Vietnamese startup founded in 2009, specializes in mobile game development. The company was established by seven co-founders who previously worked at Gameloft, including the current CEO, Nguyen Hoang Nam.
The firm develops games for a variety of operating systems, including Android, iOS, Samsung Bada, Symbian, and Windows Phone. Since its inception, Colorbox has achieved over eight million downloads for its games. Two of its top-performing premium titles are "Dalton," a stick figure platformer, and "Twins Candy," a game inspired by mahjong and Bejeweled, both priced at $0.99. Following the success of the original, the company also released "Dalton 2" and "Save The Sheep." The latter integrates social media features, reflecting the company's focus on incorporating multiplayer and social elements into its games.
In February 2013, Colorbox secured a significant investment of VND 10 billion (approximately US$500,000) from the Japanese venture capital firm, Cyberagent Ventures. This funding was intended to help the company increase its focus on the growing Vietnamese market.
