Codio
Learning experience platform for hands-on technical and AI literacy education
About Codio
Codio is a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based education technology company whose learning experience platform helps higher education institutions and workforce learning organisations deliver applied, work-ready technical education. Students complete assignments in live, real-world software environments, including cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity platforms and AI tools, rather than simulations, and the platform integrates with learning management systems such as Canvas. Codio says it is used by more than 150 universities and institutions and has helped more than 3 million learners. In August 2026 it launched an AI Literacy offering built on its 'Notice, Test, Verify, Explain and Defend' methodology and aligned with the U.S. Department of Labor's AI Literacy framework, with the University of Tampa adopting it for a required course, and plans an Applied AI for Business Schools offering. The company is led by CEO Doug Hughes. On 18 August 2026 Codio announced the completion of a $5 million strategic growth financing led by long-term investor Armada Investment.
