Their journey began in 2006 by organizing a tech event in Rome called JavaDay. Realizing the potential for a broader, multi-technology conference, they rebranded the event to Codemotion in 2011, and by 2013, this passion project was incorporated as a formal startup. Russo, the current Executive President, has a background in Computer Engineering and started her career as a software developer before moving into a sales role, giving her a dual perspective on the tech world. Marzocchi, the Co-founder and Developer Advisor, handles the content strategy for the developer community.

For its developer community, Codemotion provides a platform for professional growth through educational content, networking opportunities, and events like workshops and large-scale tech conferences.
