Clounix Technology, founded in late 2020, develops high-performance, customizable networking hardware and software solutions for data centers and telecommunications infrastructure. The company is headquartered in Hangzhou, China, with additional offices in Shanghai, Nanjing, Beijing, and Chengdu. The founding team consists of five individuals who previously held senior executive positions at major network and chip companies in Silicon Valley. The Founder and CEO is Cao Tuqiang.

The company's core focus is on creating secure, controllable, and intelligent network chips, specifically high-performance Ethernet switch chips and integrated solutions. These products feature customizable silicon architectures and support for open-source network operating systems, enabling clients like internet service providers, large enterprises, and cloud operators to build scalable and flexible next-generation network environments. Clounix aims to address the market's need for independent, high-performance network chips.

Since its inception, Clounix has secured significant funding to fuel its research and development, team expansion, and product commercialization efforts. In 2021, the company announced the completion of an angel and a pre-A financing round totaling approximately $62.6 million. The angel round was led by Qiming Venture Partners and included Inspur, while the pre-A round was led by the China Internet Investment Fund. By late 2024, the total capital raised reached $255 million, with investors including CITIC Jinshi Investment Company, Haiwang Capital, and Spinnotec.
