Founded in 2019 by intensive care physicians Dr. Arne Peine, Prof. Dr. Gernot Marx, and Dr. Lukas Martin from RWTH Aachen University Hospital, the company aims to address challenges in critical care such as staff shortages, fragmented data, and administrative overload.

The company’s core product, Mona (Medical On-Site Assistant), is an integrated hardware and software platform that aggregates real-time data from various medical devices and hospital systems, including vital signs, lab results, and radiology reports. Using artificial intelligence and natural language processing, Mona provides actionable insights at the bedside, automates documentation through voice commands, and supports clinical decision-making. The system is designed to streamline ICU workflows, reduce administrative burdens, and minimize contamination risks. Mona also includes a secure telemedicine platform that connects ICU staff with specialists globally for remote consultations. The hardware consists of a 24” 4K touchscreen, a 180° camera, AI-assisted microphones, and 5G/WiFi connectivity.

Clinomic operates on a multi-revenue business model that includes hardware, software, and data services. The company serves hospitals and healthcare systems, with the Mona platform implemented in over 40 hospitals across eight EU countries. A significant order from Sana Kliniken AG for 200 Mona systems highlights its market adoption. The company has raised a total of $50.9 million over six funding rounds. Its latest funding was a €23 million Series B round in April 2025, co-led by DeepTech & Climate Fonds (DTCF) and a private family office, to support international expansion and further product development.
