Founded in 2001 under the name JJ Labs, CITTIO was a San Francisco-based firm that specialized in network discovery and management software. The company secured a total of $11.5 million in capital through two significant funding rounds. A Series A round in March 2005 brought in $3.5 million from investor HWVP, followed by a larger Series B round in March 2006 that raised $8 million from Hercules Capital, HWVP, and JK&B Capital.

CITTIO's core offering was its WatchTower software, an automated platform designed for network and systems monitoring.
