As its acquisition activity expanded beyond commerce into areas such as enterprise infrastructure, developer tools, data management, and other vertical software markets, the group introduced Circeus as its parent holding-company brand in 2026. Shop Circle remained in operation as Circeus’s retail and commerce software division rather than being discontinued or fully renamed. The new structure reflects the transformation of the business from an e-commerce application aggregator into a broader operator of mission-critical enterprise software.

Circeus follows a long-term ownership model, acquiring established software companies while generally preserving their brands, products, teams, and customer relationships. It provides portfolio businesses with centralized support in artificial intelligence, engineering, go-to-market strategy, customer service, finance, human resources, and procurement. Its internal AI capabilities are used to introduce new product functionality, automate operational workflows, and improve software development and customer support.

The group has assembled its portfolio through a series of acquisitions, including commerce applications and broader enterprise software businesses such as KrakenD, an API gateway platform. Its Shop Circle division offers tools for functions including subscriptions, product discovery, inventory management, pricing, promotions, shipping, and conversion optimization. Across the wider group, Circeus serves more than 200,000 businesses.

Circeus operates from London, Milan, and Sarajevo and is backed by investors including QED Investors, Nextalia, 3VC, 645 Ventures, CDP Venture Capital, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
