Certara
Biosimulation software and services that accelerate drug development from discovery through regulatory approval and market access.
About Certara
Certara is a global leader in biosimulation and model-informed drug development (MIDD), providing an integrated suite of software platforms and technology-enabled services to biopharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations (CROs), academic institutions, and regulatory agencies. Founded in 2008 through the merger of Tripos International and Pharsight Corporation, the company has since grown through strategic acquisitions — including Simcyp (PBPK modeling), Pinnacle 21 (clinical data automation), and Chemaxon (cheminformatics, acquired 2024) — to build one of the most comprehensive drug development decision-support ecosystems in the industry. Its flagship platforms include Phoenix WinNonlin for PK/PD analysis and non-compartmental analysis (NCA), the Simcyp Simulator for physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling, and D360 for scientific informatics. These tools are used across all drug development phases, from early discovery and preclinical studies through clinical trials, regulatory submissions, and commercial market access. Certara's AI platform, Certara.AI (launched 2023), further enhances workflows with generative AI for medical writing and regulatory documentation. The company serves more than 2,600 life sciences organizations and academic institutions across 60+ countries, with its software licensed by over 160,000 users, including 20 global regulatory agencies. Clients include 38 of the top 40 biopharmaceutical companies by R&D spend, and Certara's customers have received over 90% of all novel FDA drug approvals from 2014 to 2025. Revenue for 2025 was approximately $419 million. Certara trades on the Nasdaq under the ticker CERT.
