Centric Software
Plm solutions that help businesses in line planning, calendar materials management, and product specifications
About Centric Software
Headquartered in Silicon Valley, Centric Software operates as a key provider of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, primarily serving the retail, fashion, luxury, and consumer goods industries. Founded in 1998, the company has established itself as a significant player in helping brands manage the entire lifecycle of their products, from initial concept to final replenishment. Chris Groves, who joined as President and CEO in 1997, leads the company's global strategy, bringing over two decades of experience in managing technology companies, including executive roles at Computervision and Novatel Communications.
The company's business model is centered on a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) subscription framework, which generates a steady stream of recurring revenue. This is supplemented by fees for professional services, such as implementation, and maintenance. Centric's core offering is its AI-enabled platform designed to streamline and optimize the complex processes of product development. This platform is composed of several key solutions: Centric PLM™ for product execution, Centric Planning™ for financial and assortment planning, Centric Pricing & Inventory™ for price optimization, Centric Market Intelligence™ for competitive insights, and Centric Visual Boards™ for data visualization. These tools are designed to connect with other enterprise systems like ERP and DAM, creating an integrated digital environment for its clients.
Centric Software serves a global clientele that includes prominent names such as Louis Vuitton, Tesco, Under Armour, and Calvin Klein. In June 2018, Dassault Systèmes, a world leader in 3D design software, announced its acquisition of a majority stake in Centric Software. This strategic partnership was intended to accelerate the digital transformation of companies in the fashion and retail sectors by combining Centric's specialized PLM solutions with Dassault's 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Following the agreement, Dassault acquired a majority stake for approximately $350 million, with plans to keep Centric operating independently.
