About CentralPoint

Centralpoint.nl was an IT reseller based in the Netherlands, established in 2001. The company operated as a brand-independent supplier of IT solutions, focusing on both hardware and software for a diverse client base that spanned small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), large corporate clients (LCP), and the public sector. Its business model revolved around the sale of IT products like computers, accessories, and components through its online platform, complemented by business services tailored to organizational needs. This approach enabled it to provide comprehensive IT solutions covering security, data storage, connectivity, and mobile working.

The company's history involves significant changes in ownership. In 2017, the Infotheek Group acquired Centralpoint, later deciding to consolidate all its brands under the Centralpoint name to present a unified IT offering. A major milestone in the company's trajectory occurred on April 13, 2021, when the Swedish IT partner Dustin Group AB announced its acquisition of Centralpoint for an enterprise value of €425 million. This acquisition was a strategic move for Dustin to establish a leading position in the Benelux region, creating what it termed an 'IT-powerhouse'. Before the acquisition, Centralpoint had approximately 600 employees and recorded revenues of around €700 million in 2020. The deal was completed on June 3, 2021, after which Centralpoint's branding was integrated into Dustin's, effectively becoming dustin.nl.

Centralpoint’s operations were centered in the Benelux region, with office locations in Nijmegen, Wijchen, and Aarschot in Belgium. The company was a value-added reseller, meaning it did more than just sell products; it provided solutions and services for various IT challenges, including maintenance and logistics. The acquisition by Dustin was intended to merge Centralpoint’s strength in the large corporate and public sectors with Dustin's expertise in serving SMBs through online platforms. The combined entity aimed for operational efficiencies and market expansion.
