About Cembra Holding

Cembra Holding AG is a prominent Swiss provider of consumer finance products and services, headquartered in Zurich. The company's origins trace back to the founding of Bank Prokredit in 1912 and Bank Aufina in 1953. GE Capital acquired Bank Aufina in 1997 and Bank Prokredit in 1998, merging them in 2006 to create GE Money Bank. In October 2013, the entity was spun off from General Electric through an initial public offering (IPO) on the SIX Swiss Exchange, becoming the independent Cembra Money Bank AG.

Cembra's business is structured into two main lines: Lending and Payments. The company's revenue is primarily generated from interest income on its lending portfolio, supplemented by fees and commissions. Its product range includes personal loans, auto leases and loans, and a variety of credit cards issued through partnerships with retailers like IKEA, Conforama, and SPAR, as well as its own 'Certo!' card family. Cembra also offers invoice financing, including 'buy now, pay later' (BNPL) solutions through its CembraPay subsidiary, which consolidated its acquisitions of Swissbilling and Byjuno. Additionally, the company provides savings and deposit products for both retail and institutional clients, and intermediates various insurance products that offer financial protection related to its lending services.

The bank serves over two million customers across Switzerland, operating through a network of branches, online channels, independent intermediaries, and approximately 3,200 car dealers. Cembra has strategically expanded its digital capabilities, launching a new IT platform for its leasing business and enhancing the Cembra app with more self-service features. The company also established a technology and service center in Riga, Latvia, to support its group operations. As a publicly traded company, its main shareholders include institutional investors such as UBS Fund Management and BlackRock Inc.
