Celyad Oncology is a biotechnology company founded in 2007 by Michel Lussier, William Wijns, and Christian Homsy. Headquartered in Mont-Saint-Guibert, Belgium, the firm initially focused on developing Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell (CAR T) therapies for cancer. Historically, the company developed both personalized (autologous) and 'off-the-shelf' (allogeneic) CAR T-cell therapy candidates for hematological malignancies and solid tumors. Its research included the development of NKG2D-based CAR T-cells and a non-gene-edited allogeneic platform using short hairpin RNA (shRNA) technology.

This led to the discontinuation of its remaining clinical programs, including the CYAD-211 candidate for multiple myeloma.
