PhoenixAI (formerly CelerData) is a Menlo Park, California-based data infrastructure company that builds the real-time analytical database for AI agents. Rebranded from CelerData in May 2026, it is the original creator of StarRocks, the open-source analytical database hosted by the Linux Foundation under the Apache 2.0 license, and it still leads that project's development.

The PhoenixAI engine gives agents, applications and BI tools sub-second SQL with complex joins on fresh data, without precomputation. It ingests mutable streaming data from Kafka and Flink CDC, reads lakehouse tables in Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake and Hudi in place, and joins real-time and historical data in a single query. Isolated multi-warehouse compute lets agent workloads, BI and ingestion run side by side without contention, with query insights and live monitoring, access through MySQL-compatible, JDBC and ODBC interfaces, and security, access control and workload isolation for production. It is offered as PhoenixAI Cloud, managed by PhoenixAI but deployed in the customer's AWS, Azure or GCP account, and PhoenixAI Anywhere, a self-managed Kubernetes deployment in a customer's VPC, data center or air-gapped environment. Customers include data and AI teams at companies such as Demandbase, Conductor, Coinbase and Eightfold.

PhoenixAI sells its managed and self-managed database products under commercial contracts, built on an open-source core with added security, governance and support.
