About Caulipower

Caulipower is a food company specializing in vegetable-based and gluten-free frozen food products. It was founded in 2016 by Gail Becker, a former communications executive, who was inspired to create healthier, convenient food options for her two sons with celiac disease. Becker left her corporate career to address a gap in the market for ready-to-eat, nutritious alternatives after finding that existing gluten-free products were often highly processed and homemade options were too time-consuming.

The company launched in February 2017 with its flagship product, a frozen cauliflower pizza crust, which quickly gained traction and established a new category in the frozen food aisle. The initial launch was in 30 Whole Foods locations, and the brand's rapid success led to expansion into major retailers like Walmart, Kroger, and Target. To fund initial growth, Becker self-funded the company using savings and credit before taking a single minority investment from venture capital firm Boulder Food Group in late 2017. The company's business model is centered on the sale of its products through retail grocery stores and foodservice channels. By 2021, the company's products were available in over 25,000 stores.

Caulipower's product line has expanded beyond its original pizza crust to include a variety of frozen pizzas, cauliflower-coated chicken tenders, cauliflower-based pastas, and other vegetable-forward items. The brand emphasizes using real cauliflower as a primary ingredient and focuses on the intersection of taste, health, and convenience. In November 2025, Urban Farmer, a portfolio company of Paine Schwartz Partners, acquired Caulipower for an undisclosed amount, a fitting move as Urban Farmer was the co-manufacturer that first helped produce Caulipower's pizza crusts.
