The company was founded by a team of six industry veterans: Ram Anant (CEO), Preetam Tadeparthy (CTO & VP Engineering), Vikram Gakhar (Director, Mixed Signal), Vikas Lakhanpal (Director, Digital, Software), Kedar Nath Choudhury (CFO), and Dattatreya Baragur Suryanarayana. This experienced leadership team possesses extensive backgrounds in the semiconductor industry, with collective expertise spanning power systems, mixed-signal design, and embedded systems, evidenced by numerous U.S. patents and publications.

The firm operates on a fabless business model, focusing on the design and development of analog and mixed-signal semiconductors while outsourcing the manufacturing process. This strategy allows C2i to concentrate its resources on creating high-performance power management integrated circuits. The company's name, C2i, reflects its core technological focus on Conversion, Control, and Intelligence. Its product portfolio is aimed at developing AC/DC converters, Battery Management systems, Point-of-Load (PoL) converters, Power Management ICs (PMICs), and embedded controls. Shortly after its inception, C2i Semiconductors secured a significant milestone by raising $4 million in a Series A funding round in November 2024. The investment was led by deep-tech venture fund Yali Capital and included participation from prominent semiconductor industry veteran Lip-Bu Tan, who also serves as an advisor to Yali Capital. This capital infusion is intended to accelerate the company's growth and innovation within the competitive global semiconductor market.
