WHIF (formerly Bunker Kids) is a South Korean startup operating an AI-powered interactive content platform of the same name. Founded in June 2019 by CEO Jeong Seung-wan, a serial entrepreneur with two prior exits, the company previously built Shipdan.me (personalized health-meal delivery) and Data Diving (AI education) before pivoting fully into AI companions. WHIF lets users chat with AI characters, build relationships, and create branching narratives based on their choices—an evolving, choice-driven experience rather than a fixed Q&A chatbot. Paying users average about 217 minutes of daily activity, and monthly revenue reportedly grew 1,000-fold within a year of launch. Users can also create and share their own AI characters. The platform launched internationally in Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, the United States and other markets, and as of August 2026 roughly 40% of revenue came from overseas, with a goal to reach over 60%. In August 2026 WHIF raised a KRW 15 billion (~US$11 million) Series A from investors including Kolon Investment, Kakao Ventures, Mirae Asset Capital, We Ventures, BSK Investment, Murex Partners, Crit Ventures, and Samchully Investment, to advance multimodal (image/video) content and global expansion.
