Founded in 2005, BoxTone established itself as a key player in the Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) sector from its headquarters in Columbia, Maryland. This included mobile device management (MDM), mobile application management (MAM), and mobile service management (MSM). The platform was engineered to give IT departments visibility into mobile device health and performance, aiming to reduce downtime and service calls. On April 1, 2014, Good Technology, a leader in secure mobility, officially completed its acquisition of BoxTone. The integration of BoxTone's mobile service management capabilities into the Good Dynamics Secure Mobility Platform created a comprehensive, end-to-end solution for managing the entire mobility lifecycle at an enterprise scale. This strategic acquisition enhanced Good Technology's ability to provide a secure, scalable, and flexible platform for its customers. Subsequently, Good Technology itself was acquired by BlackBerry in November 2015 for $425 million.
