Boonty
Developer of online casual games that focus on enhancing social interactions
About Boonty
Boonty was a global supplier of digital distribution services for PC and online gaming, founded in Paris, France, in 2001 by brothers Mathieu and Romain Nouzareth. Before Boonty, the Nouzareth brothers had established one of France's first e-business consulting companies, WebConcept, which they sold in 1999. Boonty specialized in the burgeoning casual games market, offering a white-label platform that enabled internet portals, ISPs, and mobile operators to provide a vast catalog of games to their customers.

The company's business model centered on providing a comprehensive digital distribution platform. At its peak, this platform was utilized by over 100 million customers globally and featured thousands of game titles from a wide array of publishers, including major names like Atari, Disney, EA, and Ubisoft. Boonty operated its own branded websites in numerous countries and also offered a desktop application, BoontyBox, for both Windows and Macintosh computers. The company expanded its global footprint through strategic moves, including the acquisition of Beijing-based game developer Gamehub in 2006 and launching a social gaming site, Cafe.com, in 2007.
In January 2009, Boonty was acquired by Nexway, a European digital content distribution provider. The acquisition was a strategic move for Nexway to accelerate its growth in the casual gaming sector and solidify its position as a European leader in digital game distribution. Following the acquisition, Boonty's extensive catalog of over 7,000 casual games from 400 publishers was integrated into Nexway's offerings. The founders, Mathieu and Romain Nouzareth, sold Boonty to focus their efforts on their social gaming venture, Cafe.com. The Boonty brand and its technology platform became part of Nexway, which continues to operate as a provider of e-commerce and digital monetization solutions.
