Boontar, registered as OOO Buntar, operates as a multifaceted technology company, initially focusing on high-tech LED screen distribution before pivoting to software development. The company is led by President and founder Sergey Prokopopov. In 2016, the company launched Boontar.Live, a streaming e-commerce platform. Through this platform, it facilitated the promotion of several book projects to large audiences.

Boon Market aims to be a "people's marketplace" featuring local products.
