Bodycraft operates as a chain of beauty, wellness, and skin clinics, having established a significant presence since its founding in 1997. The company was started by Manjul Gupta, a beauty and wellness professional whose journey began in the early 1990s after training with skincare specialist Shahnaz Husain. Initially a small service for army circles, her passion evolved into a formal business, Bodycraft Herbal Beauty Clinic, which was officially launched in Bangalore. Recognizing a gap in the market for integrated services, Manjul Gupta and her husband, the late Dr. Sushil Gupta, pioneered a hybrid clinic-salon model, combining beauty and wellness services with clinical precision under one roof.

The business is a family-run enterprise. Sahil Gupta, a civil engineer and IIT Kharagpur post-graduate, joined as CEO in 2009 and has been instrumental in the company's growth and expansion. Dr. Mikki Singh, a dermatologist and Sahil Gupta's wife, serves as the Medical Director and expanded the company's offerings by introducing clinical and dermatological treatments. Swati Gupta, the Capability Director, spearheads the Bodycraft Academy, which offers professional training in makeup and hairstyling.

Bodycraft's business model is centered on providing a comprehensive range of services directly to consumers. Revenue is generated from services rendered at its physical locations. The company operates through a mix of company-owned, company-operated (COCO) and franchise-owned, franchise-operated (FOFO) models for its salons, while the clinics are exclusively company-owned. The firm caters to a broad clientele, serving over 350,000 customers across its network. The service portfolio is extensive, including salon services like haircuts, styling, and coloring; spa treatments such as massages, scrubs, and wraps; and clinical solutions like dermatology, cosmetology, facial aesthetics, laser hair removal, and body contouring. The company reported revenue of ₹98 crore for fiscal year 2024 and projects reaching ₹135 crore in fiscal year 2025. The company has secured funding, including a round in November 2016, to facilitate its expansion.
