The company was established in February 2021 by David Baldwin and Shaun Knight. The founders previously built and led Baldwins, which they grew into a top 20 UK accounting firm before it was rebranded as Azets, and they were subsequently forced out in 2020. David Baldwin has over 20 years of experience running his own business and advising a wide variety of clients. Shaun Knight's background is in banking and corporate finance, and he served as COO at a Top 10 accountancy firm, with over 20 years of experience advising on M&A, raising finance, and strategic planning. Headquartered in Walsall, the firm has undergone rapid expansion, growing to over 25 offices across the UK, including a move into Scotland. This growth has been fueled by a series of acquisitions, supported by investment from Palatine Private Equity. As of March 2024, the company generated £14 million in revenue and employed 229 people.

BK Plus offers a comprehensive suite of services, including accounting, audit, tax compliance, bookkeeping, payroll, and company formation. It also provides specialized corporate finance services such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A) advisory, business valuations, capital raising, debt advisory, and financial restructuring. A key part of their strategy includes a "buy and build" approach, acquiring regional accountancy practices to expand geographic coverage and service offerings.
