Models and automates clients business processes
About BizAgi
The story of Bizagi, a name blending 'business' and 'agility', began long before low-code platforms were a common term. In 1989, Gustavo Gomez and Marcel Manser founded the company, initially developing custom ERP systems in Colombia for clients like Apple. This early work revealed a core problem: software was rigid, but business processes were not. After coding a solution for months, they'd find the client's needs had already changed. This insight led them to pivot towards workflow solutions and eventually into the world of Business Process Management (BPM). The company's vision was to create a platform that would allow organizations to model, build, and run their business processes with more flexibility. They developed a suite of tools, including a freeware modeler, to help businesses map out their operations visually using the standard BPMN notation. This approach empowered business users, not just developers, to participate in creating their own automated workflows. For nearly three decades, the company grew without external funding. A significant event in its journey occurred in September 2017, when Bizagi secured a $48 million private equity investment from Invus. This capital was raised to accelerate growth and expand its global presence. Today, Bizagi operates as a key player in the low-code and process automation market, a long journey from its origins building custom software one client at a time.
