About Bhinneka.Com

Bhinneka, through its parent company PT Bhinneka Mentari Dimensi, stands as a pioneering force in Indonesia's e-commerce sector. The company was established in 1993 by Hendrik Tio and four colleagues, initially operating as a distributor for IT products like large-format printers, PCs, and software solutions. Hendrik Tio, an accounting graduate from the University of Sumatra Utara, had prior experience in the IT industry working for a Singaporean firm, which fueled his entrepreneurial drive.

The Asian financial crisis of 1997-1998 proved to be a pivotal moment. Facing near collapse, the founders saw an opportunity in the burgeoning internet landscape. On June 1, 1999, with a reduced team of 24 employees and an initial capital of Rp 100 million, they launched Bhinneka.com, shifting their business model from distribution to online retail for computer products. To build trust in an era of online shopping skepticism, Bhinneka adopted an omnichannel strategy, opening its first physical store in 2001.

Bhinneka operates primarily as a B2B (Business-to-Business) e-commerce platform, also serving B2G (Business-to-Government) and B2C (Business-to-Consumer) segments. Its revenue is generated through direct sales of a wide array of products, positioning itself as both a retailer and a distributor for official brands. The company's core clientele includes corporations, SMEs, and government institutions. In 2015, Bhinneka was entrusted by the Indonesian government to help develop the e-Katalog LKPP platform for transparent public procurement. The platform has since transformed into a "Business Super-Ecosystem," connecting businesses with providers of goods and a variety of professional services, including marketing, tax consulting, and human resource management.

The company's offerings are extensive, spanning IT products, Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) goods, business solutions, and professional services. This includes everything from laptops, servers, and office supplies to business software installation, IT maintenance, and even Device as a Service (DaaS). To complement its sales, Bhinneka operates as an authorized service center for major brands like ASUS, Lenovo, and HP, handling repairs and warranty claims, thus providing robust after-sales support.
