BewellConnect Corp
Ecosystem of connected devices and services that enhance care coordination
About BewellConnect Corp
BewellConnect Corp. operates as the U.S. subsidiary of the French company Visiomed Group, which specializes in medical electronics. Founded in 2007 by Eric Sebban, Visiomed launched its BewellConnect range of connected health products in 2014, establishing itself as an early entrant in the Internet of Things (IoT) healthcare market. The company aimed to address the challenge of fragmented and cumbersome digital health devices by offering a suite of healthcare services built around FDA-approved products rather than manufacturing its own. The U.S. subsidiary, based in Boston since 2015, is tasked with expanding business in the American market.
The company's business revolves around a platform that connects a variety of medical devices and provides medical interpretation through artificial intelligence and personalized healthcare applications. This ecosystem includes a range of FDA-approved, connected medical devices such as thermometers (MyThermo), blood pressure monitors (MyTensio), oximeters (MyOxy), scales (MyScale), and glucometers (MyGluco). Data from these devices is automatically sent to the BewellConnect application, which allows patients and physicians to monitor health progress. The platform is designed to empower patients in managing their own care and alleviate the data-gathering burden on primary care physicians. In a move to make its services more accessible, particularly for the elderly, BewellConnect integrated its platform with television screens, allowing users to access services like BewellCheck-up® for diagnostic guidance and MyDoc® for 24/7 remote medical consultations. One of its key products is VisioCheck®, a portable teleconsultation station that integrates five different medical devices for remote monitoring of vital signs.
BewellConnect targets both individual consumers and B2B2C channels, including insurance companies, mutual insurance firms, and pharmacies. Its revenue model is based on the sale of its medical device kits and monthly subscriptions to its service platforms, with costs varying based on the selected service modules. In March 2018, its parent company, Visiomed Group, raised $30 million to accelerate the development of its remote patient monitoring products and services. However, PitchBook data indicates that BewellConnect is now out of business as of February 2023. In January 2023, BewellConnect merged with Whealthy Care Solutions to form a joint venture named Bewellthy.
