Bedrock Security

Bedrock Security is a data security company providing a comprehensive platform for organizations to manage risks associated with cloud and generative AI. The company was co-founded by data security experts Pranava Adduri and Ganesha Shanmuganathan. Adduri's background at Rubrik and AWS exposed him to the critical challenges in enterprise data protection, while Shanmuganathan brought extensive engineering and system architecture experience from Cohesity and VMware. In March 2024, the company announced $10 million in seed funding led by Greylock and officially launched its platform. Bruno Kurtic was also appointed as CEO at this time, with Adduri taking the role of CTO and Shanmuganathan as Chief Architect. By November 2025, the company, rebranded as Bedrock Data, secured a $25 million Series A round, also led by Greylock, to accelerate platform development and market expansion.

Bedrock's core offering is a data security platform centered around its AI Reasoning (AIR) Engine. This engine automatically discovers, classifies, and manages sensitive enterprise data, including intellectual property and regulated information, to prevent it from being ingested into AI models. The platform addresses the limitations of traditional Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) solutions by providing continuous visibility and risk assessment at scale. It operates on a serverless architecture, enabling rapid deployment and lower operational costs. Key features include continuous data discovery and response (DDR), risk surface minimization by identifying over-provisioned access and stale data, and creating data perimeters to ring-fence sensitive information. The platform is API-native, allowing for seamless integration into cloud environments like AWS, Azure, and GCP without agents or proxies. Bedrock serves clients across various sectors, including technology, finance, healthcare, and biotech, helping them to secure data in IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments.
