BFT's flagship ingredient brand, sero™, offers fibres derived from hemp, flax, and cotton that serve as a direct, "plug-and-play" replacement for synthetic fibres in existing manufacturing lines. These fibres are engineered to meet the exacting standards of the nonwovens industry, providing properties like strength, softness, and absorbency that match or exceed those of the synthetic materials they replace. The company has developed proprietary wet processing and fibre cleaning technologies to achieve this. A significant milestone was the acquisition of manufacturing facilities in Germany and Lumberton, North Carolina, which are being scaled to produce over 10,000 metric tons of fibre annually, with plans to reach 50,000 tons. This expansion was fueled by significant financing rounds, including a major strategic investment from Finnish firm Ahlström Capital.
